Between the boroughs of Rochester and Bridgewater PA, the Beaver River empties into the Ohio River as it makes a turn West. The town of Beaver rests on the Ohio River's North shore. If coming from the City of Pittsburgh, Beaver can be reached in about 40 minutes; taking Route 65 North and Route 68 West will put you on the East side of the town. If approaching from the Pittsburgh International Airport on Route 60 North, you can be here in about 25 minutes taking Route 68 East thus entering the town from its West side.

From the East or West, Route 68 is the main artery (3rd Street). It runs the entire length of town , connecting with Route 65, 18 and/or 51on its East side and Route 60 on the West side.
