CAFE' KOLACHE

A place close and safe

Preserver as the

Tide pulls me under

Back to port and docked with only

Breeze to enjoy

An old friend to greet

To sit down with and savor

Somewhere bright and brewing

An endless cup of rejuvenation

Hot swirls of steam play

Against my cheek like a lover's kiss

Sweet, serene bliss if but for a flash

In this warm, brown world

Glistening cups lure in

Tickling the tongue with spice

Indulgent treats that bear fluency in each bite

Folding napkins to swaddle hungry lips

Forgetting time and space to stare at

Sights of white fading deep within the dark
